Energy was at its peak at Gabrielle Roy School!

The students and staff of Gabrielle-Roy Elementary School in Saint-Léonard were in for a surprise on February 10.  Along with the Foundation's team, the artist Sarahmée visited them to announce that they would be receiving new musical instruments worth a total of $30,000. These include timpani, piano, xylophones, metallophones, conga, djembe, bass, viola and tenor recorders.

Music teachers Rica François and Isabelle Lanctôt had worked with the students beforehand so that they could perform the song "Ma Peau" on that day. What they didn't know was that the song would be performed in front of Sarahmée herself, much to her surprise.

It was an emotional and grateful Sarahmée who spoke after the song: "Bravo! It touches me so much. Thank you for this. I'm happy to be here today. Today was difficult and you really gave me my smile back. I'll always remember this day, thank you ..."
